Inclinometers are used whenever knowledge of the value of the angle with respect to gravity is desired. This information can simply be used for leveling purposes, or even used in more complex measurements and calculations. Since an inclinometer is contactless besides mounting, a high IP rating (comparable to NEMA) can be obtained. This opens up possibilities to measure relative angles between more than one inclinometer, should an environment be particularly harsh.
